HUGE NEWS|Microsoft Hololens

Microsoft today held a HUGE event covering from things about Windows 10, Xbox, Windows Phone, and Cortana, but it all was nothing to Microsoft’s unveil of Hololens. Hololens is something completely else. It moves you beyond the screen. It is a goggle that you put around your eyes which allow you to see holograms of apps, TV, objects, games and many other things. To see what I mean, watch the video by Microsoft by clicking here

THIS IS HUGE! This excitement is on a whole nother level compared to the excitement I had for Google Glass. Though is it just me but would it seem kind of weird to other people if you were walking around with huge black goggles around everywhere? I’m sure this is simply a prototype and the design will become simpler as the years go on. But once again, WOW this is like Back to the Future became real. I’m going to make a better post about this soon as I’m still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. But in the meanwhile, be sure to check out Microsoft’s site http://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-hololens/en-us?ocid=MSCOM_HoloLensGlobe

Woah, I mean just… woah.

Windows 10 Review

Windows 10

Windows 10

The new Windows, Windows 10 (not 9), is a completely revised version of Windows, unlike Windows 8.1

Microsoft released the Technical Preview of Windows 10 yeaterday on their website. The download sizes are mighty big, the 32 bit version being around 3 GB and the 64 bit version being around 4 GB. The download took me about half-an-hour.

The installation was, well, a bit slow and glitchy. It actually failed on me 2 times before I finally got it to work. One peice of advice during the install is to burn the .iso file of Windows 10 on a DVD-R(W) and then run the CD from the BIOS instead from Windows

After going through the quick initial setup, I was presented with the desktop. The biggest change here is the Start Menu is just like it was in Windows 7. There is one exception though. The start menu has the Windows 8 apps on the side of it, but it no longer takes up the whole screen. Instead they are all on the desktop, which is nice. You can now add multiple desktops if your Windows are getting messy. Last but not least, you can snap 4 things at once now. Some things that are bad though is that the mouse pointer have a difficult time responding. I had to click on things 3 times befire it actually responded.

That was my expieirence with the new Windows, download it otday and let me know what you think in the comments below!

How to get iOS 8 on your iDevice early for free

If you have been following Apple’s news recently, then you probably know about iOS 8. In my opinion, the new features are nice touches to features already introduced in iOS 7. There is a way to get the new iOS early if you’re to eager like me to try all the new features. Simply follow these steps, but remember, do at your own risk, as there is a 50% chance that your device will not work after performing these steps.

If your iDevice is jailbroken, do these steps first. If not, then skip.

  1. Go to getios.com and download the latest iOS for your device
  2. Save it to your desktop
  3. Connect device to iTunes
  4. Hold shift and click on “Restore” and select the iOS on your desktop

Once you’ve done that, follow these steps for iOS 8.

  1. Go to getios.com and download iOS 8 for your device
  2. Save to desktop
  3. Connect device to iTunes
  4. Hold shift and click on “Update” and select the iOS on your desktop

If it doesn’t work, connect to iTunes and click on “Restore” and your device will go back to iOS 7.

Run Android on Windows using Andyroid

Android is a great free operating system. What makes it even better is the variety of apps it has. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I wish that I could use Android on my PC instead of my computer for a richer experience. Searching around the internet, I found a neat application called Andyroid. It is super easy to set up. All you need to do is download the installer found on the website. The installer will download the android image and virtual machine software for running the android image. Once done, you just launch Andyroid and your computer will run the full Android OS straight from your computer. Its fairly simple to use, although one problem I had is sometimes the loading time would be very slow for old computers. Give Andyroid a try and write what you think in the comments!
